Private company will crack down on parking offenders

A private company working under contract to the Gibraltar Government will crack down on drivers who breach parking laws.

The team at Gibraltar Parking Management Services Limited (GPMS) will start enforcing the Traffic (Parking & Waiting) Regulations from September 1.

The company’s Parking Management Officers [PMOs] are replacing the role previously carried out by Highway Enforcement Officers [HEO].

The HEOs have disbanded and absorbed into other divisions of the civil service such as the Borders and Coastguard Agency and HM Customs.

GPMS won the Government contract to supply this service two months ago.
