Saxophonist Stefano Di Battista to headline Jazz Festival

Renowned International Jazz artist Stefano Di Battista will be headlining this year’s Gibraltar International Jazz Festival.

The Ministry of Culture yesterday announced Mr Di Battista will be performing live at St Michael’s Cave on Saturday, December 7, and will be accompanied by his Quartet of musicians who are currently on tour.

The Stefano Di Battista Quartet will be supported by our very own Levanter Breeze and Surianne Dalmedo.

Levanter Breeze is an eclectic Jazz fusion band from Gibraltar incorporating influences from Flamenco and Arabic music, comprised of four members: Brian Torres (Keyboards), Francis Pecino (Drums), Luis Chipolina (Bass) and Peter Martinez (Guitar).

Ms Dalmedo is an independent singer songwriter from Gibraltar who joins Levanter Breeze performing songs from her own repertoire including her upcoming independent single ‘She Flies’.

As part of the Jazz Festival weekend a ‘One Night Only… The Jazz Club’ concept will be held again this year.

The weekend event will once again be hosted by local jazz musicians with an invited international Jazz Band, ‘The Jamba Brass Band’.

The event will be held at Chatham Counterguard on Friday, December 6 starting at 6.30pm and will feature street entertainment with a marching Jazz Band from 4.30pm to 6.30pm around town to warm up for the main event at Chatham Counterguard.

The line-up will include local band The Street Dogs and ANANYA feat NY-GEE and No Limits Entertainment (Jazz and Blues DJ Set).
