Senior citizens want more local history

?

Local history, conversational Italian, cooking, music and art are the top subjects of preference for further learning by the Rock’s senior citizens at the University of Gibraltar.

Of the 350 people who filled in the questionnaires as a result of the awareness morning at the Piazza, asked to show their interest in further education classes at the university, 21% are keen to learn more about Gibraltar and its history. 13% would like conversational classes in Italian, with the rest, some 11% and 10% wanting to learn more about cooking, music and art, followed by IT.

The Gibraltar University has committed itself to two courses a year and will be holding an Open Day for the over 55s on Friday 3 June from 9.30am to 2.30pm where those wanting to enroll for courses can do so. The university will host a series of free taster sessions on the day on the subjects of interest.
