Six years for ‘unremorseful’ rapist

A local man who raped a vulnerable teenage girl and sexually assaulted another remained unremorseful yesterday as he was jailed for six years.

The 28-year old man, of Glacis Estate, maintained his innocence throughout his sentencing at the Supreme Court yesterday.

He was convicted three months ago by a jury of nine who found him guilty of rape and three counts of indecent assault.

Dressed in a black suit and tie, the defendant appeared unfazed throughout the court proceedings.

“There has been no remorse given and the defendant continues to protest his innocence,” Puisne Judge Karen Ramagge Prescott told the court.
