Voters in Spain overwhelmingly want the UK to remain in Europe, according to a new survey.

The University of Edinburgh and German think-tank dpart sampled voter opinion in six countries and revealed similar trends in other key European states.

But the study also revealed little backing for Britain to continue to have access to the single market in the event of Brexit.

That finding will be viewed with caution here, where the Gibraltar Government has argued that access to the single market is crucial for the Rock’s economic model, irrespective of the outcome of the EU referendum.
