Teenage jet-ski thieves weep in court

Three ‘naïve’ Spanish teenagers who tried to steal jet-skis worth over £16,000 from Ocean Village wept yesterday as they were remanded in custody by the Magistrates Court.

Two men, aged 19 and 18, respectively, and a 17-year old juvenile boy pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted theft, going equipped and entering Gibraltar other than via the land frontier.

The court heard how the trio from San Roque jumped the fence at Western Beach equipped with a pair of bolt cutters on Monday at around 8.30pm.

They were then observed by off-duty Gibraltar Defence Police and Royal Gibraltar Police officer’s entering the platoon opposite Bruno’s in Ocean Village.
