University exceeds target student figure in first six months of operation

?

The University of Gibraltar has 230 formerly enrolled students. 40% above the target figure set when it officially opened six months ago.
Vice Chancellor Daniella Tilbury is confident this shows the interest and potential of the university with only part-time courses currently on offer.

“We have exceeded our target for year two already and we are only in the second semester,” says its Vice Chancellor.

The target figure was based on the University of Warwick which initially opened with just 80 students.

“We have not even opened the full time courses and we have met those numbers.

“Therefore the potential is significant and what is important to us is that we take it step by step.”

The interest has been so overwhelming, she assures, that the institution has to make certain there is a proper plan in place as “there is almost too much demand for us and we have to make sure we take the right decisions”.

With this in mind, the University has actioned its Strategic Planning Process - its manifesto showing where it wants to be and what it wants to achieve by 2020.
