Wrecking Ball lead after week 3 of Gibraltar Pool Association season 2024/25
The Gibraltar Pool Association has started the 2024/2025 campaign with a total of 10 teams in First Division and 11 teams in second Division. The league is comprised of a set structure of 6 individual matches, 3 doubles matches, and a final individual match named the “Captain’s choice”. The league is based on each team playing each other home and away to decide the eventual winners of each division by the end of the season.
Fresh Entertainment Divison 1 League Week 1 Results
Last year’s winners Charlie’s Bar started the league with a conviniging 7-3 win over the Casino Calpe Dragons. Last year’s runners up FEC Stars started with a scare going down 3-1 but manage to recover and take the win 6-4 against Cuephoria. Newly promoted Wrecking balls and Cyber Rar Pack held each other to a 5-5 draw. Royal Oak played Cormorant Boat Club and in this game Cormorant Boat Club took the narrow lead by a 6-4 win.
Fresh Entertainment Divison 1 League Week 2 Results
The second week of matches saw Charlie’s Bar taking a shock 4-6 loss at home to Wrecking Balls. Wrecking Balls have reinforced their team for the season after being promoted last year from Second Divison and this has proven worhwhile so early in the season. FEC Stars had a solid 3 – 7 win away to Cormorant Boat Club. FEC Stars have hardly lost a game in the last 8 years and still a force to be wreckoned with. Casino Calpe Dragons struggled yet again loosing 3 – 7 at home to Cuephoria. In the St Theresa’s club battle between both home teams St Theresa’s lost 1-9 to St Theresa’s Pirates.
Fresh Entertainment Divison 1 League Week 3 Results
The third week of matches so Wrecking Balls continuing strong from the previous week’s win over last years winners with a convincing 8 - 2 win over Casino Calpe Dragoms, in the home derby at Casino Calpe Club. St Theresa’s Pirates also had another great 9 – 1 win this week, this time over the Cyber Rat Pack. Cuephoria lost 3 – 7 to Cormorant Boat Club. Royal Oak one of the longest established teams in the league was held to a 5-5 draw by St Theresa’s. St Theresa’s let this one slip after being 4 – 2 up in the single matches and then loosing all doubles to go into the Captain’s choice 5 – 4 down. In the Captain’s match Gregory Albone manged to get the win to salvage a point for St Theresa’s.
KAM Divison 2 League Week 1 Results
Divison 2 has gained a number of new teams for the season, most notably Royal Gibraltar Regiment and they started with a convincing 8-2 win over Customs Recreation Club. Moorish Castle SC who where demoted last year showed why they normally are a Divison 1 team by securing a convincing 9-1 win over Chuckle Brothers. Glacis Lagers had a narrow win 6-4 over Charlie’s Angels. 5 Points and Kindred had a 5-5 draw as did Cyborgs and Catalan Bay.
KAM Divison 2 League Week 2 Results
Divison 2 was a very tight affair this week with a lot of draws and two teams eventually winning on the Captain’s match. Chuckle Brothers and Charlie’s Angel was held to a 5-5 draw. The same applied for Kindred United and Royal Gibraltar Regiment. Moorish Castle SC that where demoted last year have started an early challenge to bounce back to first Division with 2 wins out of 2 this time again with a convincing scoreline of 8-2 against 5 Points. Glacis Lagers edged Catalan Bay 6-4 with Nathan Henshaw securing the win in the last match. At Customs Reacreation Club there was another derby between GibOil and Customs Reacreation Club. In this match GibOil secured the match 4-6 in their favour and start their league campaign with a win.
KAM Divison 2 League Week 3 Results
Divison 2 saw newly created team Royal Gibraltar Regiment take on Moorish Castle SC in the top of the table clash. This match was a very tight affair and ultimetly the Regiment boys had a 6 – 4 victory. This match was secured when Jordan McGrail and Jaydan Pozo edged the pair of international players Naresh Gopwani and Jennifer Yeo.
Gib Oil continued there strong start of the season with a 7 – 2 win over Kindred United, keeping their 100% win percentage so far. Charie’s Angels also had a 6- 4 win over Catalan Bay. In the Captain’s match Sarah De LA Rosa beat Frank Perera to secure the win for the Angel’s. Cyborgs had their first win of the season with a convincing 7 -3 win over Customs Recreation Club. - GPA
