X Factor winner Haenow will perform on May Day

The May Day celebrations will see X-Factor winner Ben Haenow perform on the Rock. This year’s international act will perform on Casemates where the May Day celebrations will be held, Sunday May 1.

Ben Haenow won the eleventh series of the X Factor 2014 edition with his debut single ‘Something I Need’ was released after the grand final. The single achieved the Christmas number one position that year after  selling 214,000 copies in its first week. It was also the second-fastest selling single of the 2014. During last year , Haenow was contracted by Syco Music and spent several months in Los Angeles recording his self-titled album ‘Ben Haenow’ that was released last November.

The May Day events organised by Gibraltar Cultural Services on behalf of the Government, will begin at 11am from the Square with a Family Fun Day to include live music and live performances by Mediterranean Dance School, Stylos Dance Studios, Kristian Celecia, The Kubes, Karma 13, Omnibus, Shot Break, The Undesirables 141, and the Gibraltar Youth Choir.
